Private and Business health insurance premiums causing a stir in the US
The US health care storm is still surging towards the United States of America. Wind speed is gaining momentum and gunning towards the white house and getting ready hit with destruction.
Well – maybe not quite, but it is causing a bit of a stir over there in the States, and now here thanks to one of our very own (Tory member) who has attacked the National Health Service here in the United Kingdom whilst Barack Obama is trying to sell the American public a health service that is in the same mould as our very own – interesting.
I think one of the things president Obama hates the most is the fact that top brass from the private health sector in the US are raking in millions from other peoples misery.
Year after year people and businesses see excessive rises in their medical care premiums and small business health insurance quotes from insurance companies.
President Obama is planning to make changes that will stop insurance companies from charging exorbitant fees plus stop restrictions on what health insurance customers get cover for.
The Presidents first major mission in his own back yard is to make health insurance available to the 46 million people who are currently uninsured. This number has rocketed over the last five years as insurance premiums have more than doubled since then.

HEALTHCARE IN THE US
- 46 million uninsured, 25 million under-insured
- Healthcare costs represent 16% of GDP, almost twice OECD average
- Reform plans would require all Americans to get insurance
- Some propose public insurance option to compete with private insurers
